CASE STUDIES
OPEN DOOR
Driven by an unshakable mission to improve access and shift perceptions around mental health support, Open Door is a charity with big ambitions. Based in Birkenhead, their work involves supporting young people across the Liverpool City Region who are dealing with mental health challenges, like anxiety and depression. A lot of these young people have disengaged from traditional clinical services, or never engaged to begin with, often because of barriers that feel overwhelming. With a 13-year track record of transforming lives, Open Door delivers free, fast, and effective support through inclusive communities, welcoming non-clinical spaces and based programmes.
JAMES' PLACE
“At 3am one morning, I realised I had a choice: find some help or end my life. I started googling and came across James’ Place. My therapist was excellent and made me feel very comfortable. I liked that it was just for men; that made me feel more relaxed. It’s been a really helpful experience, and I still attend James’ Place now as part of a peer support group. It was what I needed to help me come out of my crisis and see a future again.” – Nick, former James’ Place client.
