BREAK THE WALL EVENT

Mental health is a topic that’s always been close to the heart of Montirex as a brand. That’s why our annual Break The Wall campaign was created, as a way to break down walls around conversations about mental health. The subject can be a scary one to approach, especially for men, which is why it’s something we talk about all year round.

Each time this campaign rolls around, we want to use it to strengthen our community and open up conversation. This year, its focus was on the fear and uncertainty around starting conversations with those around you who may be struggling.

To take the campaign into our community, we also ran not one, but two events, one of which featured a very special launch.

THE MONTIREX FOUNDATION SCREENING

The first event took place on May 27th in the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool. Attendees got an exclusive look at a film highlighting the creation, background and long-lasting impact of The Montirex Foundation, an organisation set up through Montirex in 2024. The foundation was set up to support CICs and charities across the Liverpool City Region who are dedicated to delivering change and supporting mental health, and this year, it officially opened up for funding applications.

HEADSPACE TRAILS

The second event involved our community coming together for a trail running experience with Allterrain95. Meeting at our Liverpool One shop on May 30th, attendees took part in a 6K run through Rivington before heading back for a panel discussion around the impact of physical activity on mental health.

While these events ran just after mental health awareness week this year, the topic is something we should be focusing on year round, and with the launch of The Montirex Foundation, we’re looking forward to supporting and championing even more people and organisations. Sometimes, the biggest step you can take is just starting the conversation, so remember to check in with your mates.
