Supplier Code of Conduct
At Montirex we do not condone or tolerate Modern Slavery in any form.Whether that’s with our own employees or the factories we work with in our supply chain overseas. We recognise forced labour, human trafficking and child
labour is a pressing issue globally, especially in the fashion industry. Therefore, we ensure each supplier we work with shares our same ethical compliance stance in line with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) principles and right to work.
1. FULL TRANSPARENCY IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN
Montirex suppliers must be transparent when it comes to ways of working. Suppliers must be willing to disclose relevant information and business documentation to Montirex as required. Suppliers must be willing to adhere to our ethical compliance policy when it comes to audit submission via Sedex.
2. FORCED LABOUR
Suppliers must not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, including human trafficking. Workers must be free to leave employment after reasonable notice.
3. CHILD LABOUR
Suppliers must not employ workers under the age of 15 or the minimum legal age for employment, in accordance with the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards.
4. WAGES & BENEFITS
Suppliers must pay workers at least the minimum wage required by law and provide all legally mandated benefits, including overtime compensation. Wages must be paid regularly and in a transparent manner. Recruitment fees must be paid by the employer and no deductions of such be paid by the employee.
5. WORKING HOURS
Suppliers must comply with local laws regarding working hours and overtime. A standard work week must not exceed 48 hours, and total working hours, including overtime, must not exceed 60 hours per week.
6. FACTORY WORKING CONDITIONS
Suppliers must provide a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including on site dormitories. This includes fire safety, sanitation, ventilation, lighting, and machine safety. Suppliers must also take
proactive steps to prevent workplace accidents and illnesses through proper training, maintenance of equipment, and emergency preparedness.
7. EQUALITY & DIVERSITY
Suppliers must provide a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, or abuse based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, political opinion, or any other protected status
8. DISCIPLINARY PRACTICES
All employees must be respected and treated fairly in the workplace. Should disciplinary action need to be enforced, suppliers must act in line with the law and not expose employees to any form of physical or verbal abuse.
9. BRIBERY
Suppliers must not engage in bribery, corruption, extortion, or any form of unethical business practice.
10. LAW
Suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, including waste disposal, pollution control, and hazardous material handling.
11. ESG – ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL GOVERNANCE
Montirex suppliers must have an environmental sustainability strategy in place, which includes their supply chain tackling waste and pollution issues in line with industry standards and legal requirements. Suppliers must go above and beyond to improve ways of working to minimize the environmental impact processes have, promoting water stewardship and using renewable energy resources where possible.
12. UNAUTHORISED SUBCONTRACTING
Suppliers must not subcontract to unauthorized sites, all factories used for Montirex product must be approved and onboarded by the sourcing team. CMT sites must be authorised alongside the factory site submitted for production.
13. FREEDOM OF ASSOSIATION
Suppliers must ensure workers have the right to collective bargaining and join trade unions without fear of retaliation.
14. DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Suppliers must protect sensitive employee data, whilst also implementing a formal process for workers to report concerns safely and confidentially.
Suppliers must commit to upholding this Supplier Code of Conduct. We believe that responsible sourcing strengthens our brand, supports workers, and protects the environment. Together, we can create a more ethical and sustainable supply chain.
